Stories of US – Summer 2026 Worship Series
This summer at AHCC, we’re celebrating 250 years of a nation still unfolding – its story, its struggles, and its hopes. Our series, “Stories of US,” invites us to look back at the people, events, and movements that have shaped our country and to look ahead with faith, courage, and imagination.
This year also marks a meaningful milestone in our own story as Asylum Hill Congregational Church celebrates its 160th anniversary. Throughout its history, AHCC has sought to embody the values of liberty and justice for all – from speaking out against the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, to electing women to positions of leadership, to supporting higher education for underserved communities. As we journey through the summer, we will weave these stories into our worship, remembering how our congregation has grown alongside the nation and how God has continued to guide our mission across generations.
Together, we will explore the rich and complicated story of America alongside the timeless stories of Scripture, discovering how God’s work through history continues to shape our present and our future. From moments of courage and sacrifice to movements for justice and renewal, we will see how faith has intersected with the American story in ways that inspire, challenge, and call us to faithful action today.
Join us this summer (June 28 through September 6) as we celebrate our shared past, connect it to the enduring story of God’s love, and imagine the next chapter of “US” – a story that is still being written, and one in which each of us has a part to play.
