Closing and Cancellations

Asylum Hill Congregational Church recognizes the need to cancel services and events due to inclement weather for the protection and safety of the members of our congregation. When it is deemed necessary to cancel church services or events, or to close AHCC for any reason, it is the goal of AHCC to make the decision in a manner to ensure all those interested in attending are advised on time so that there is a minimum amount of confusion.

For weather emergencies, the decision to cancel the Sunday worship service will be made by 6:00am Sunday morning. In certain situations, it may be possible to make the decision to cancel evening events at the same time worship services and/or normal day operations are canceled. However, if it is necessary to cancel the evening activities at the church on a separate basis, the decision will be made by 3:00pm.

When such decision is made, the following methods will be used to notify the members and friends of AHCC: a notification bar on this website, an email sent to all friends and members for whom AHCC has a valid email address, scrolling weather-related closing information on local news channels, a message on the church’s main phone line, and posted on the social media outlets Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
