Frank Virnelli, Jr. has been a member of Asylum Hill Congregational Church since 2006. He has served AHCC in a number of capacities, including as a shepherd for Spirit Hill Church School, and a member of the Music and Arts Committee. He is the communications coordinator for the Men’s Fellowship and has been a regular attendee at the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast since its inception in 2016. Frank has also participated in numerous Men’s Fellowship outreach programs, including a Lenten book discussion, the Men’s Loneliness Forum and the Fatherhood Manologues. He and other Men’s Fellowship members also serve lunch monthly at Loaves and Fishes. Frank is a member of AHCC’s audio/video ministry, operating the cameras or sound board for Sunday services and other important church events. He has supported the Boar’s Head Festival in a variety of ways, including staging, reception and ushering. He was a deacon-at-large from July 2020 to November 2023 before assuming the role of interim vice moderator.
Prior to his retirement, he worked in state government, a highlight of which was serving as a hearing officer for licensing hearings and recommending that people with criminal histories be given a second chance. Frank and his wife, Carol Pinkston, are the parents of Kat Virnelli, and live with two cats who rule the household. In each role he has, as humanly as possible, Frank tries to be there for others to help them grow in faith and love as disciples of Jesus.
