Holidays and Special Services
In addition to the regular Sunday services, AHCC offers special services throughout the church year.
Ash Wednesday (noon) A service of scripture, song, and sacrament of communion. Ashes are distributed to those who desire them.
Ash Wednesday (evening) a meditative worship experience, including the distribution of ashes for those who wish to receive them. Join us for the beginning of Lent - first with a church family celebration, and then a more introspective look at the road we take over the next forty days.
Maundy Thursday This meditative and reflective worship experience recalls the Last Supper and the final hours Jesus spent with his disciples.
Good Friday Neighborhood Procession beginning at Trinity Episcopal Church at 120 Sigourney Street. Participants from several faith communities walk from church to church in the Asylum Hill neighborhood as brothers and sisters in faith. There is a brief service at each site.
Good Friday Evening Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Special musical observance of Good Friday. Join us in worship as we reflect upon Jesus' death through the music of our Choir and orchestra.
Easter Sunrise, Elizabeth Park Overlook An informal and intimate gathering to celebrate the resurrection morning.
Easter Sunday Worship, AHCC A celebratory worship service where the symbols of death are cast aside and the light of the resurrection shines forth in hymns of praise, words of hope, and great music.

All are welcome to join church members and friends for this special and meaningful service in the chapel. Leadership is provided by our clergy, staff and Caring Ministers.
Christmas Eve Family Service an intergenerational service offering lively congregational hymn-singing and quiet moments of contemplation.
Christmas Eve Candlelight Traditional candlelight services with choir and instrumentalists. Come explore God’s unpredictable, astounding love in the wonder and mystery of the incarnation.
