Camille Boyd came on board in January as our new Parish Visitor/Caring Coordinator. Camille will be taking the hand-off from our wonderful Joan Hopper who will continue to volunteer when time permits. Camille brings a passion for caring service to the elderly and to all the folks in our congregation with special needs, and will work closely with June Day and our clergy to coordinate a comprehensive caring ministry. We are excited to have her talent and spirit become part of our ministry.
Camille was born in Durham, NC and moved to West Hartford with her family 2 years ago. Her son Maxwell is a junior at Hall High School and her daughter Abigail is a junior at UCONN.
Camille received her BS in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Her work background is in sales, marketing, and recruiting. While a stay at home mom, Camille helped create a mentor program at her children’s middle school, served on the parent board, chaired the grounds committee, was the membership chair for her neighborhood board, held numerous Relay for Life and school fundraising events, and was a top seller for Silpada Jewelry in her state and nationally.
Camille adores her family, friends, and her two bichons, Lucy and Molly. She is the eldest of 3 girls and considers her sisters and mom her “besties.” She has always had a special place in her heart for seniors, having spent many summers and vacations with her grandmothers who both lived very long lives in Copenhagen, Denmark and St. Simons Island, Ga. Other favorites are her new church (AHCC), antiques, doubles tennis, and travel.
