When the decision was made to offer in-person worship at AHCC, it was with the understanding that we would monitor the situation both locally and state-wide regarding COVID-19.
Unfortunately, the number of positive cases in Hartford, as well as in Connecticut, has continued to rise, and Connecticut is returning to Phase 2 state guidelines. While these guidelines do allow for indoor/in-person worship, out of an abundance of caution, we are suspending our in-person worship services effective immediately. We will continue to monitor the situation and reassess at the beginning of December; please be on the lookout for updated information then. We will continue offering our livestream service at 9:00am.
Despite the safety measures in place for our in-person worship service, the increasing number of daily positive cases throughout the state creates a greater chance that someone attending the service is asymptomatic, but still contagious. This presents a significant risk that the clergy and staff are not comfortable with. Additionally, the Southern New England Conference (UCC) is recommending all churches suspend in-person worship services until further notice.
Friends, we know this decision is disappointing for you, as it for us as well. We appreciate your understanding, your support, and your prayers as we continue to navigate these stormy and uncharted waters.
