Current News

Kyle Cannon is now AHCC’s Volunteer Coordinator. She can be reached at or 860.216.9832.

Based on recommendations by the Personnel Committee to better align staff and resources, the position of Assistant Director of Children & Family Ministries was recently eliminated. Kyle Cannon has held this position for 18 years. From the Christmas pageant to working with our volunteer teachers, Kyle has assisted several Directors of Children and Family Ministries, and most importantly, cared for and about literally hundreds of children and families.

But don’t worry! You will still see Kyle as she assumes her new role of Volunteer Coordinator, helping to lead the coordination of our Sunday Community Meals with Pastor Jordan Rebholz, as well as other community outreach efforts.

Please feel free to extend your congratulations to Kyle by emailing her or mailing a card to the church.

Catherine Magnusson has joined the staff as the assistant to Rev. Erica Thompson. She can be reached at or 860.216.9821.

Catherine will manage Rev. Thompson’s calendar, coordinate her schedule, make appointments, and assist with projects.

Catherine and her family have been members of AHCC since 2010. Her family enjoys participating in all things AHCC from Sunday morning worship and the Boar’s Head festival to family movie night. As a member, Catherine has served on the Children and Family Ministries Committee, was chair of the Women’s Spirituality and Fellowship Committee, a member of the Associate Minister Search Committee, and a volunteer in the Thrift Shop.

She and her husband Martin and their three kids have called West Hartford home for the last twelve years. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, volunteering at her children’s school, playing board games, refinishing old furniture, cooking, and yoga.

Welcome aboard, Catherine!

June Day is retiring as AHCC’s Pastoral Care Associate.

June will be retiring from AHCC in mid-December after serving this church for over 46 years, 8 years as Associate Organist and Choir Director, 24 years as Secretary to three different ministers, and nearly 15 years as Pastoral Care Associate. In each position, June said she “felt that it was where God wanted me to be [and] I have enjoyed every role here.”

Though June will certainly keep in touch with members, it will not be in a professional capacity and if some issue should arise that needs special attention, she will refer you to someone at the church.

June will be taking a few months off after the retirement date to allow time for a smooth transition.

In the meantime, please reach out to June at or send a card/letter to the church congratulating her on her retirement.
