During the worship service on December 20, 2020, I was delighted to announce the formation of The Maxwell Merrick Belding and Sally Newell Belding Fund, which will be used to endow AHCC’s Director of Music and Arts position, henceforth known as the “Maxwell Merrick Belding & Sally Newell Belding Director of Music & Arts.”

This endowed position will be supported in perpetuity, and is the result of the generosity of Max Belding. In the fall, Max gave AHCC a financial gift in honor of his late wife, Sally Newell Belding, a member of AHCC from 1941 until her death in 2019.

Recognizing and honoring both the excellent work and creative artistry of Jack Anthony Pott, AHCC’s current Director of Music & Arts, along with the generosity and love of music and arts of Sally Belding, this endowed position will help ensure the financial stability and high quality of artistic programming that has been a hallmark of AHCC’s music and arts program.

“It is such an honor," Jack said, "to be the first person to hold this title associated with two people who were so passionate about the advancement and sustainability of music and arts in Connecticut. What a tremendous blessing this is for AHCC!"
