As of Friday, January 11, I will be out of the office, disconnected from technology, and stepping away from my pastoral duties at the church for two weeks. The reason for this short break is two-fold:

If you’re a teen at AHCC, how do you learn the importance and reward of giving and supporting the church and organizations in the community that we lift up?

For the high school members of AHCC’s Youth Ministry, one way is through a series of service projects that provided great opportunities to use their time and talents.

Asylum Hill Congregational Church’s vision states that we have a commitment to “growing Christians of today for the Church of tomorrow.” The core ministries that support this vision are worship, pastoral care, outreach, spiritual friendship, spiritual growth, and music and the arts.

Over the last 40 years, ConnectiKids has been able to support over 10,000 students. Each year, we bring together over 250 volunteers and 250 students to develop caring mentoring relationships that support children both academically and emotionally. Students are provided with homework help, reading support, free books to take home and quality time with a caring adult.

On December 2, 2018 the congregation of Asylum Hill Congregational Church called the Rev. Erica A. Thompson as the tenth senior minister, and first female senior minister, in the church’s 150 year history.
