GHIAA Training – Combating Racism

AHCC’s GHIAA Team invited you to participate in Spring 2026 (Up)Rooting Racial (In)Justice Training

Join GHIAA leaders as we learn and practice skills to uproot racial injustice and root ourselves and our congregations more deeply in a lifelong commitment to racial justice and collective liberation. The four I’s of Oppression & Change helps us see that racism like all the “isms” is upheld and maintained through our culture (Ideological), our institutions (Institutional), our personal interactions with each other (Interpersonal), and even individually as we internalize the constant conditioning of this system (Internalized). Together we will deepen our understanding, awareness, and skill to identify action steps for change to create greater racial justice within each domain. This training is designed for both BIPOC and white individuals looking to explore the ways our multiple identities and experiences inform how we show up in multi-racial spaces with compassion and a commitment to racial justice.

This four-week series will be held on Tuesday mornings in May via Zoom. To allow for deep engagement, the training is limited to 20 participants. For more information and registration, please complete this online form.

Combating racism is the work of a lifetime, and an essential part of our work together as GHIAA. AHCC member Sandy Wood Forand added, “I’ve participated in a number of racial justice trainings over the years, and this one from GHIAA was the deepest and most helpful in my daily life.”
