Evening Zoom Adult Bible Study

As part of our program year focus on “Dusting Off The Pages,” you are invited to participate in a new weekly adult Bible study program. Pastor Lara will lead an in-person session on Thursdays at AHCC from 10:30 – 12noon, including time for a snack break and connecting with one another. Then on the following Monday evening, Jim Cox-Chapman will lead a Zoom session from 6-7pm that is a repeat of the lesson on Thursday. Choose your preference for in person or ZOOM; choose your preference of day or time; choose week-to- week which option works best for you; or attend both sessions for further conversation and learning. Need to miss a week here and there? That’s fine too.
This opportunity is for everyone, from the most experienced bible scholar to those who may have never read a single page. We will spend the Fall laying a solid foundation for reading and interpreting the stories of the bible on their own and in the larger context. After Thanksgiving we will use Advent to consider the various accounts of the Christmas narrative and then come back after the New Year to dive into together. As Pastor Lara said, “This isn’t a “current program year and done” opportunity. I expect most people will fall in love with bible study in community. My hope is to continue learning together and growing in biblical literacy far beyond the program year.”
