Gather with AHCC friends to hear our own Jorge Fuentes play with Ed Fast’s Conga Bop in Concert at Elizabeth Park. This band offers Afro-Cuban influenced rhythms and hard-bop harmony fused to create unique, soulful originals and creatively-arranged jazz standards.

Conga Bop is a supergroup coalition of top New York City artists in jazz, dance, and drumming, coming together to create a unique and powerful voice. Conga Bop bandleader Ed Fast has criss-crossed the globe performing and across the country with stars including Aretha Franklin, Frank Sinatra Jr, & Chita Rivera. Ed’s musical travels have taken him to Africa, Cuba, Moscow, and beyond.
The powerhouse horns are captained by jazz trombonist extraordinaire and Grammy winner Steve Davis, and regularly feature some of the most exciting horns on the scene today, including Josh Bruneau, trumpet; Sarah Hanahan, alto sax; James Burton, trombone, and Joel Fuentes, trumpet.
Conga Bop currently features exceptional vocalist Taylor McCoy, who applies her exciting style to unique Rumbafied versions of jazz standards, Broadway classics, and more. The percussion section, led by Ed Fast, regularly features world-renowned Afro-Cuban specialist Anthony Carrillo and the soulful conguero Jorge Fuentes. The rhythm section is completed with NYC bassist Matt Dwonszyk and pianist Zaccai Curtis. A Conga Bop event is more than a concert … it’s a one-of-a-kind Afro Cuban Jazz and Drum celebration.
