Blue Earth Composting
If you want to do something important with your food scraps, join the AHCC Climate Action Team for an information session led by Samuel King and Blue Earth Composting.
The goal of Blue Earth Composting is to take food waste out of that trash stream and compost it, reducing the total tonnage of trash Connecticut ships out of state only to end up in landfills.
The environmental benefits are clear. There are things we can do as households like separating our food scraps for composting, that have huge environmental impacts. Because if food waste were a country itself, it’d be the third largest emitter of carbon emissions on the planet which means food waste has major negative consequences on climate change consequences. When we compost, we actively take part in healing our planet.
Please join the AHCC Climate Action Team as we host Sam King from Blue Earth for an information session in the Twichell Room directly following the worship service.
