The Jazz Samaritan Alliance
Join us for an evening of inspired music led by local jazz greats Kris Allen, alto saxophone, Noah Baerman, piano, and Jimmy Greene, tenor saxophone. This new ensemble is a collective of established composer/educator/performers using their collaboration as a means of creating and presenting socially-conscious, original jazz. As part of the John and Edie Murphy Music for Humanity Concert, the FULL VALUE of your $25 ticket supports Foodshare, an agency working to end hunger as a part of the overall community effort to alleviate poverty in greater Hartford.
The band started in 2012 to play jazz for social change. Their hope is to raise money and awareness for local charities by playing thematic music. Members of the band write new material for every concert, aligned with the cause. This concert will feature new premieres by members of the band to support Foodshare. All band members are composers, performers, band leaders and committed to social justice.
