Legacy of Slavery: A Personal Exploration

Date:
November 17, 2019 - 11:30am to 1:00pm

All are welcome to this fully interactive session focusing on self-exploration and our personal experience of bias and privilege. The forum will be facilitated by Martey Rhine, a white woman with a passion for social justice.

The aim of the series is to identify new, more effective ways to positively impact our community. If we want to become true anti-racists in the pursuit of equity, inclusion, and racial justice, we need to become self-aware of how white people are consciously and unconsciously contributing to the continuation of racism.

The final session will be preceded by a special worship service on the theme of “Looking at Race and Racism Through Words and Music.” The forum is open to everyone, whether or not you’ve attended any previous sessions. Bring your curiosity, courage, and capacity for self-reflection.
