Loving & Supporting AHCC

Read why these members support AHCC through their annual pledge

Karin and Bill Stahl - Like many members, we think about two gifts for the church; annual giving to sustain our daily practices and capital giving that is longer term, rewarding in different ways. The theme for both that runs through our minds and hearts is how blessed we are with our ministers and ministries. The depth of AHCC ministry to members and outreach makes a difference in our lives, the neighborhood and greater communities. Giving from the heart supports all those who minister.

Debbie Loomis -Bob and I sense that we are spiritually and emotionally happier and healthier when helped to see the "bigger picture." We attend AHCC to open up, wake up, and see beyond the issues of our immediate lives. We care and pray for others as well as ourselves. We are a community. We love and support AHCC becauseof its inclusiveness and its powerful influence on us, the Hartford community, and beyond.

Sandra A. Lee - My background and my primary interests are investments and finance. I have used my expertise over the years in many areas at AHCC. From a professional point of view, I have never seen a tighter ship. Unfortunately, paying for maintenance or snowplowing is not glamorous; but it is vital to our historic church. I want to be sure that we have a properly running physical facility to house all the many ministries and organizations that call it home.

Marilyn Ballard - What a church-our Asylum Hill! The pastors, the members, the staff, the leaders; the attention to all. We minister to ages from infants and preschoolers to youth ministries and on up. And then there are the programs- Worship and Fine Arts, Christian education for all ages, Stephen Caring Ministry, outreach to benefit and change the neighborhood, Women's Spirituality and Fellowship to name just a few. The benefits we receive require some of our time, talents, and treasure, but think about how much we receive. The purpose of the Church is to "work for the increase in the love of God and neighbor in Jesus Christ through sharing, caring, outreach, and worship." We are asked to pledge each year so that the church can plan for the coming year and carry out this mission. We are truly blessed with a giving congregation that enables us to support our members and our community.

Dick & Nancy Davis - Although we live in the suburbs, close to several local Congregational churches, we choose to commute to AHCC to help support our church's commitment to Hartford, a city that needs all the help it can get. We are proud of the Asylum Hill neighborhood housing the church has sponsored and its support of the Boys & Girls Club. We appreciate AHCC's lecture series, outstanding music and fine sermons. We are grateful to be associated with an open and affirming church. Thank you, AHCC.

Dan & Jan Tracy - We love AHCC because everything we as a church community do is of the highest quality. In particular, we find the worship services, the music program, the adult education offerings, the neighborhood rebuilding initiatives and the physical facilities to be unequaled in the region. And, we are fortunate to have a staff and a congregation with the time, talent and resources, as well as the commitment, to maintain this quality.

Roland Lange - This great church, through its ministers, is a beacon of light in the community it serves and in the world at large. What a privilege it is that each of us, as members, share in the joy and satisfaction of this all-important mission through our hearts and our substance.
