Spirit Hill Volunteer Involvement Campaign

Sunday, March 21
You will have the opportunity to hear about Spirit Hill during the 10:15 a.m. worship service and volunteer sign-up cards will be distributed with our hope and prayer for many new and seasoned volunteers willing to participate during the 2010-2011 Spirit Hill year. Please visit the Spirit Hill table in Drew Hall to find out more about volunteering with our program - it might just change your life.

Kindergartners
Under the guidance of nurturing and experienced teachers, children learn the epic Bible stories through storytelling, art and music activities in self-contained classrooms.

1st through 6th Graders
Named by AHCC's children, the Spirit Hill program is based on a rotation model where children are immersed in a fully interactive learning experience - learning through art, drama, film, storytelling, music, movement, cooking, outreach, Bible study and worship. First through sixth graders rotate each week through rooms transformed into a temple, grill, art center and movie room, where they study one epic Bible story for a four-week period. Children receive the benefit of learning the Bible lesson with a variety of teachers, while "shepherds," church volunteers from teenagers to grandparents, attend church school with one class for an entire curriculum year, providing a constant presence and familiar, friendly face.

Spirit Hill depends on volunteers from our membership. In fact, there are nearly 150 people who give their time teaching, being shepherds or helping in other ways. These adults are engaged, enthusiastic and caught up in the Spirit. No special skills are needed. You just need to love children and be willing to help them with their faith journey.
