The Twichell Room echoed with laughter and expressions of gratitude, as words of welcome and thanks were offered by Peggy Winters to the volunteers and friends of AHCC’s Thrift Shop and Crisis Food Support. The volunteer “Thank You” reception, hosted on Sunday, June 14, recognized those who share the gift of time with the Thrift Shop and Crisis Food Support. By providing affordable wares to the Asylum Hill Neighborhood and emergency food for families with children, the Thrift Shop and Crisis Food Support continue to live into our call as disciples of Jesus, stepping into the space of our neighbor’s need.
Words of thanks were also offered by Sandi and Wayne Lobdell, current chairpersons for Crisis Food Support, and AHCC Outreach Committee Chair Wanda Williams-McCormack. Bill and Jessie Saxton were also recognized for 15 years of service as chairs of Crisis Food Support.
