CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRIES

March 30 – April 20

Kindergartners: With Ann Sullivan and Liridona Mehmeti’s guidance, children continue to learn the epic Biblical stories through storytelling, art, and music activities.
1st through 6th Graders: Children explore Mary Magdalene’s experience with Jesus and continue to learn about the meaning of Easter.

WRITERS: Judy Carrithers and Ann Sullivan
PURPOSE: Through Mary Magdalene’s experience with Jesus’ ministry and her witness of the resurrection, we have a deeper understanding of the teachings of Jesus and God’s grace. Children learn that faith is a journey that includes mystery; all of us, both young and old, are always learning about God .

May 4 - 18, 2008

Kindergartners: Ann Sullivan and Liridona Mehmeti introduce the rotation model to the Kindergarten and have the children join 1st graders in the Reel to Real room to learn about Zacchaeus through film, games and with popcorn, too.
1st through 6th Graders: Children explore the story of Zacchaeus and relate the message to their lives.

WRITERS: Susan Peterman and Ann Sullivan
PURPOSE: God accepts and loves all people even those who have lost their way. When people are ready and open to accept God’s love, they are transformed just as Zacchaeus was when he invited Jesus into his home and heart.
