Music & Arts at AHCCArts Retreat Weekend offered many surprises Click for Retreat Followup pictures The first ever Arts and Spirituality Retreat at AHCC presented the opportunity for 30 members and friends to “free the artist within” and experience their own creativity as never before. Many were surprised at their ability to step out of their artistic “comfort zone” and experience the wide range of both individual and group activities offered. “It was a weekend of surprises,” observed Steve Mitchell, Minister of Music and Arts, “surprise that we could actually get away from the world for a day or so; surprise in each activity; and surprise in finding deep spiritual connection in moments of movement, music, art and word.” Men's Chorus to Sing on Mother's Day Sunday, May 11 In what has become a tradition at AHCC, the men of the congregation join to sing in worship on Mother’s Day Sunday. All men (though it helps if you can sing) are invited to join us for 3 Sunday rehearsals April 20, 27 and May 4 after worship in the Choir Room at 11:30 a.m. Contact Steve Mitchell at church or mitchell@ahcc.org for more info. Ladies – a little encouragement will go a long way! Choir Club presents: “CREATION!” A Kid’s Musical Worship The Choir Club, under the direction of Dan Campolieta and Steve Mitchell, has developed a musical worship service around the Creation Story found in the first chapter of Genesis. By reading and sharing the story, the kids have come up with their own special rendition that focuses on humanity’s need and responsibility to care for the whole of Creation. Using all recycled materials (cardboard, rubber inner tubes, wire hangers, fabric, paper, etc) the children have designed their own sets and costumes. Dan has assembled a live band to play in with the kids and the songs promise to uplift and inspire. The Sanctuary Choir joins the kids in the finale “Let Everything That Has Breath Praise The Lord”. Be sure to attend!
