The goal of the Children’s Music Program at Asylum Hill Congregational Church is to encourage the spiritual and musical development of our children in a safe and inspiring community of faith.  To this end, ensembles are designed to afford high quality musical experiences while encouraging healthy relationships with one another and with God. The music program is comprised of two formal musical ensembles and several smaller, short-term opportunities.

Choir Club (Grades 3-6+) is a children’s choir experience that emphasizes commitment and growth, both musically and spiritually.  We meet on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:00PM and order in pizza for dinner! Under the direction of Steve Mitchell and Dan Campolieta, the Children’s Choir participates in worship throughout the fall, including Thanksgiving Sunday, the Christmas Pageant and on Christmas Sunday.  Be a part of the fun!  Join the Choir Club. Contact Steve Mitchell or Kathleen Graham for more information.

Cherubs (grades K-2) sing together every Sunday morning! In an effort to give our youngest singers a strong musical and biblical base, the Cherubs sing together every Sunday morning at 10:15am in the Choir Room (McKeith Hall).  Make arrangements to drop off your kids before the 10:15 worship service for a time of music and fun with Steven Fasano and Lisa Nappi.  Both choir members and professional area musicians, Steven and Lisa bring a love of music and a love of children together in this gathering time of song and praise.  Spirit Hill Shepherds are on hand to assist and escort the children to their Church School classrooms.  Join us every Sunday!

Middle School and Youth Choirs meet “seasonally” for short and intense rehearsal periods before participating in Worship.  Usually focused around Christmas and Easter, these 4 week commitments allow our young people to fit music and worship into their very busy schedules.  Announcements are posted in the Sunday Bulletin and Hill Church news and letters are sent to eligible singers/instrumentalists in anticipation of the first meeting.  Rehearsals take place on Sunday Mornings from 11:30am – 12:30pm.  As many as 50 High School singers currently participate in this program.

Youth Band “The God Squad” is made up of High School musicians who have made an additional rehearsal commitment to play together as a rock/pop band in preparation for Worship and other Youth Events. These active members of our Youth Group schedule rehearsals around the larger youth program and calendared events.  Facilitated by organist Dan Campolieta, this group is open to new members through an interview/audition basis.
